Keeping You in Stitches

Riaad Moosa graduated from UCT Medical School in 2001 and recently played the lead in the movie Material (opposite Joey Rasdien and Nik Rabinowitz). Along with top comedians including Trevor Noah, David Kau, John Vlismas, Tumi Morake, and Marc Lottering, Moosa was one of the headline acts supporting Eddie Izzard in the 46664 "It's No Joke" concert in February 2010. He was also awarded the Comics Choice Award at the 1st Annual South African Comic's Choice Awards in March last year.

The acts

• Conrad Koch (eTV's Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola, Puppet Asylum) combines comedy and puppetry and has been featured on local and international television. He is also a frequent guest at some of South Africa's biggest comedy events (including The Smirnoff Comedy Festival, the Vodacom Comedy Festival, King Size Comedy, The 94.7 Heavyweight Comedy Jam, and more).

• Kurt Schoonraad, pioneer of Jou Ma se Comedy Club and known for his role as the whacky protagonist on three seasons of Crazy Games, has hosted Comedy Showcase and played the lead in the movie Skeem. He can also be seen on DSTV in Comedy Central presents Kurt Schoonraad at Parkers in Joburg.

• Stuart Taylor, presenter of Going Nowhere Slowly, has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Berlin International Comedy Festival, the New Zealand International Comedy Festival, and in sold-out one-man comedy shows (Money's Too Tight to Mention, Learner Husband). Taylor is also a past recipient of the Overall Best Comedy award at the National Arts Festival.

Keeping You in Stitches is on at Cape Town's International Convention Centre on Saturday 17 November. Tickets are available from Computicket and all proceeds go towards the UCT Department of Family Medicine's Community Health Projects.
