For the past 8 years I have worked in the media industry as a commercial account manager, servicing both above the line and below the line media. I am currently working as a Digital Accounts manager for Mediamark, a national multichannel media sales house spanning radio, digital, television and events. I was originally brought into Mediamark to build and grow the client and media agency relations working closely with our advertising operations department and creative advertising unit, Lab42, which works closely with the programming departments of the radio stations within the Mediamark portfolio and our internal sales and marketing teams, to offer unique in-content sponsorship opportunities that provide measurable ROI for advertisers.
Mediamark has subsequently won a number of industry awards, most notably 'Best Contribution by a Media Owner' at the Advertising Media Association of South Africa Awards in 3 of the last 4 years based primarily on the efforts of this unit under my leadership. Revenue derived from in-content sponsorship has also increased by 20% year-on-year with substantial gains in the radio station's digital revenue line based on our integrated approach.
Over and above this, I have been responsible for servicing all our digital media partner brands which include eBay (Gumtree.co.za) , Inspiring women, Microsoft msn, outlook, D6 School communicator app, digital live stream radio platforms (Jacaranda FM, East Coast Radio, Khaya FM), private marketing place platforms (Adjoin) and our mobile advertising platforms (Vodacom & Second Screen. The strategy and execution of Mediamark's multichannel product development initiatives that leverage this integrated approach on a broader scale whereby we offer select media combinations across our media channels, a first in South Africa from a media sales perspective.
I have a Professional Diploma in Marketing through CIM, a media diploma Certificate through the AAA School of advertising and currently undertaking my post graduate diploma in marketing management through the IMM Graduate School and completed my dissertation on 'Radio and online as complementary advertising platforms.' Furthermore, I have a Professional Certificate in Digital Marketing through Webgrowth. I pride myself in being a creative and solutions-driven person with strong organizational skills, commercial acumen and an ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver tangible results.
