Letebele is an experienced and diplomatic professional having worked extensively in the area of South African branding through the numerous portfolios she has held since the dawn of democracy and has applied her knowledge and skill in this area with passion, the drive of excellence in implementation through many projects that are home grown with the 'legs' to grow throughout the African continent and other parts of the world.
Letebele has broad experience that includes the corporate public/legislative, private and NGO sectors, through heading up filmmaking, television, communications and media relations portfolios - building effective stakeholder relationships, PR and reputation management, to name but a few areas of her expertise and experience. She has also worked in oil and gas, philanthropy and, most recently, the Legislative arm of state, the Parliament of South Africa,
Letebele has worked mostly at senior managerial levels and has been involved in all areas of managing budgets, people, project life-times, media campaigns, internal and external communication campaigns, strategy development, planning and implementation - all of this in alignment with organisational strategy in various institutions.
Although Letebele is proudly South African and passionate about Africa, she has lived and worked in different countries including the USA, UK, Canada, Zambia and Ethiopia. She considers herself a global citizen with diplomatic flair who has travelled extensively in parts of South and North America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia and Europe for work and personal assignments.
Her education qualifications include the following:
• Higher National Diploma in Public Administration, from Sheffield Polytechnic(UK)
• Undergraduate Liberal Arts Degree (Cum Laude), with a major in film and video from
City College of New York, City University of New York; and a
• Master of Arts, International Relations Degree from Boston University, Massachusetts,
USA.
Additionally, she has taken courses in management and leadership growth and development, which have contributed to her ability to perform with compassion and excellence in her various portfolios in different organisations.
To give back, she is a member of the Board of the Health Foundation of South Africa, a non paying position on the board. She is also a Board member of the Economic Development Partnership in the Western Cape.
On the personal side, Letebele enjoys a good read, poetry, walking, tennis, yoga, photography, film, art and cooking. She loves her two dogs, Ella and Bugsy, and her world revolves around her three boys - Tyrone (21), Mashilo (23) and father Nathaniel (93).
With a father who instilled the importance of education from early childhood, Letebele believes it is the only way South Africans will grow and progress themselves in order for them to develop the potential of this wonderful country.
