    Sanef, BLF back at it

News24 reports that the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg will hear arguments for and against Black First Land First leader Andile Mngxitama. The South African National Editors Forum wants Mngxitama arrested and jailed for 90 days if he is found to be in contempt of court and if he afterwards again crosses the legal line.

Sanef brought the application before the court after Mngxitama and members of the organisation tried to enter the Daily Maverick's ‘The Gathering' at the Cape Town International Convention Centre despite an interdict against such behaviour. Sanef and 11 other journalists were granted the interdict to prevent BLF from harassing, threatening, intimidating, or coming to the homes of any of these journalists, or from threatening them on social media.
