Deidre graduated with a copywriter from Vega, the brand communication school, in 2006 with a Bronze Loerie in the student category under her belt. Her penchant for strategic creative communication saw her working for a large South African publisher where she consulted advertisers on their material. This venture branched into a new division for the publishing house today known as Gumption marketing. Deidre worked on the re-branding for Birchwood Hotel during this time and soon moved over to the hotel conglomerate full time. Deidre hosted many marketing events at the hotel including the popular Ekurhuleni Comes Alive Jazz evenings in partnership with Oudemeester Brandy, DsTV and Kaya FM. A highlight in her career was the coordination of a fan park, the International Football Village, for the 2010 world cup which hosted up to 8 000 visitors per day.
Seeking a new challenge, Deidre began working at BitCo in 2011 and her time saw her uplift & re-design the brand's image, position and raise awareness for the brand and maintain their corporate image. She became a specialised technical writer, knowledgeable in all Internet and Telecommunications functions, including legal compliance. After five great years at BitCo, Deidre opted to spread her wings and explore self-employment.
Working under her name (for now), she offers copywriting services which include SEO ready content for websites.
